Pastor Byron Herchenroder - Pastor and School Administrator

Pastor Byron Herchenroder has served at Faith Baptist Church and Deltona Christian School since 1983. Before coming here, he and his wife Bev served as missionaries to Mexico. He has served as assistant pastor to his father, Pastor Don Herchenroder (founder of DCS), and is now the senior pastor and school administrator. He also teaches high school boys Bible class and preaches in chapel. He has faithfully continued the vision for DCS for 50 years. 

Mr. Philip Herchenroder - School Principal

Mr. Phillip Herchenroder has been the school principal since 2005. He has served along with his father, Pastor Byron Herchenroder, and has helped the school grow both academically and numerically. Mr. H has a desire to see young people grow in knowledge and also in their spiritual walk with the Lord. Many students and parents have come to know Jesus Christ as their Savior as a result of his heart for the Lord.

Miss Elizabeth Dedic

Miss Dedic serves as the K3 Preschool Class teacher and offers private piano lessons at the Lower/Upper school campuses.

Mrs. Herchenroder serves as the VPK Preschool K4 Class teacher.

Mrs. Peyton serves as the Kindergarten (K5) Class teacher. 

Mrs. Lisa Tishken

Mrs. Tishken serves as the 1st Grade teacher.

Mrs. Justice serves as the 2nd Grade teacher. 

Mrs. Cassie Barnes

Mrs. Barnes serves as the 3rd Grade teacher.

Mrs. Dahl serves as the 4th Grade teacher. 

Mrs. Sharon Williamson

Mrs. Williamson serves as the 5th Grade teacher. 

Mrs. Samantha Herchenroder

Mrs. Herchenroder serves as a teacher’s assistant for preschool and elementary, and teaches middle school and high school girls PE at the Upper School. 

Miss Rosalyn Rooney

Miss Rooney serves as a preschool teacher’s assistant and teaches elementary art. 

Miss Olivia Rooney

Miss Rooney serves as an elementary teacher’s assistant and teaches elementary art. 

Mrs. Carrie Shiu

Mrs. Shiu serves as an elementary teacher’s assistant. 

Mrs. Alison Liberatore

Mrs. Liberatore serves as a daycare teacher for the Lower School. 

Mrs. Diane Hewitt

Mrs. Diane Hewitt serves as a daycare teacher and janitor for the Lower School. 

Miss Julie Swanson

Miss Swanson serves as the Kitchen Manager and a daycare teacher for the Lower School. 

Mr. Clayton Johnson

Mr. Clayton Johnson serves as a maintenance worker for the Lower and Upper School campuses. 

Mr. David Justice

Mr. David Justice serves as a Facilities Manager for the Lower School campus and delivers lunch orders to the Upper School. 

Miss Elisha Dedic

Miss Dedic serves as the Treasurer, Lower School office, middle school and high school girls assistant for PE, and is the Lady Knights Girls Volleyball Coach.

Mrs. Bev Herchenroder

Mrs. Herchenroder serves as the church secretary for Faith Baptist Church, Lower School office receptionist, and Upper School High School girls Bible teacher. She is also our pastor’s wife. 

Mrs. Heather Mitchell

Mrs. Mitchell serves as the Lower School assistant principal. 

Mr. Ken Stratton

Mr. Stratton serves as a teacher for 6th grade Homeroom, 6th grade English, middle school Study Halls, high school Business Math, and middle school and high school boys PE. 

Mr. Leo Smith

Mr. Smith serves as the teacher for 7th grade Homeroom, middle school and high school History classes, and high school Speech. 

Mrs. Kara Stoughton

Mrs. Stoughton serves as a teacher for 8th grade Homeroom, and middle school Math and Science classes. 

Mr. Nick Mondelli

Mr. Nick Mondelli serves as a teacher for 9th-10th grade Homeroom, 7th-12th grade English classes, Study Halls, and is the Boys Basketball Coach for the Upper School.

Mrs. Lisa Stratton

Mrs. Lisa Stratton serves as a teacher for 11th-12th grade Homeroom, and high school Math and Science classes. 

Mr. Joseph Miller

Mr. Miller serves as a teacher for private trumpet lessons and Study Hall, and assists with landscaping at the Lower/Upper School campuses. 

Mr. William Rooney

Mr. Rooney serves as a maintenance worker for the Upper and Lower Schools. 

Mr. Matt Williamson

Mr. Williamson serves as a maintenance worker for the Upper and Lower Schools. 

Mr. Christian Navarro

Mr. Navarro serves as a maintenance worker for the Upper and Lower Schools. 

Mrs. Stephanie Navarro

Mrs. Navarro serves as an office worker for the Upper and Lower Schools, and serves lunch at the Upper School. 

Miss Julie Fremer

Miss Fremer serves as the Upper School office receptionist. 

Mrs. Laurie Herchenroder

Mrs. Herchenroder serves as the Upper School assistant principal, Office Manager for Lower/Upper School offices, and teaches middle school girls Bible and high school Life Management. 

All of our teachers have one or more of the following qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in any subject
  • Three or more years of K-12th grade teaching experience
  • Special skills, knowledge, or expertise that qualifies them to provide instruction in K-12th grade subjects

 

Reporting Misconduct by Instructional Personnel and Administrators All instructional personnel, educational support employees, and school administrators have an obligation to report misconduct by instructional personnel, educational support employees, and school administrators which affects the health, safety, or welfare of a student. Examples of misconduct include obscene language, drug and alcohol use, disparaging comments, prejudice or bigotry, sexual innuendo, cheating or testing violations, physical aggression, and accepting or offering favors. Reports of misconduct of employees should be made to the acting directors of the respective campuses:

Legally sufficient allegations of misconduct by Florida certified educators will be reported to the Office of Professional Practices Services. Policies and procedures for reporting misconduct by instructional personnel or school administrators which affects the health, safety, or welfare of a student are posted in the Ethics in Education Document in the Faculty/Staff Manual (and is available for review at the main offices at both campuses) and on our Web site at www.deltonachristianschool.org.
