Chapels and Special Speakers
Every week students at DCS have chapel services with staff, local pastors, or special speakers. These chapels are intended to be times of spiritual challenge and enrichment as speakers preach about a variety of topics. Many young people have been saved and made big strides in their lives as a result of these preaching times. Every other year we are privileged to have the War of Special Forces which is an exciting three-team competition for the entire 6th-12th grades. This special event has been extremely helpful in seeing young people make spiritual decisions for the Lord. The last three nights are especially designed to bring in unsaved people, and many teens and adults are saved during those days.

Recitals and Concerts
All students have the opportunity to participate in our annual Christmas program, which includes all the school choirs, band, speech, and other exciting things. Every year the whole school, staff and students, join together on stage for the Grand Finale. It is always an exciting time! Students may also participate in the spring concert and other special recitals featuring those who have taken lessons on their particular instruments. This is a great opportunity for kids to apply what they have learned in a performance setting.
Fine Arts Contests
Every year students in 4th-12th grade have the opportunity to participate in the annual fine arts festival and contest with our state convention Sunshine Association of Christian Schools. Students can compete in a variety of categories including Bible, Academics, Speech, Music, Art, and Science Fair. The winners in the 9th-12th grade contest have the option to further their competition at the national level.
