K3 Class – K3 Scope and Sequence

Our K3 class is for 3-year-olds! Our K3 class is offered Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. We also offer before- and after-school wrap-around daycare. Before-school care begins at 7:00 a.m. and after-school care closes at 6:00 p.m. Students in K3 will need to be full potty-trained before enrolling.

K3 students at DCS will learn the basic core principles in the following areas:

  1. Language Arts: Students learn the basics in sounds formation, name recognition, basic letters.
  2. Numbers: Students will learn simple concepts including counting 1-30 and number concepts 1-15.
  3. Bible: Students will learn hymns and choruses, Bible verses, Bible doctrine, and other lessons from Scripture.
  4. Character training and manners: Students learn weekly character traits and have daily opportunities to learn and practice good manners towards their classmates.
  5. Art: Students participate in basic arts and crafts that help develop basic coordination and motor skills.

K4 (VPK) Class – K4 Scope and Sequence

Our K4 class is for students who turn 4-years-old by September 1! This is a VPK class, or Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK). Families that enroll their child in our VPK class receive free tuition for the year when they apply for and turn in a VPK voucher. Please visit https://vpkhelp.org to apply for a VPK voucher. Our K4 class is offered Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. We also offer before- and after-school wrap-around daycare.   1. Language Arts: Students learn the basics in phonics and reading, cursive writing, poetry, and language development.
  2. Numbers: Students will learn simple concepts including counting 1-100 and number concepts 1-20, and basic addition facts.
  3. Bible: Students will learn hymns and choruses, Bible verses, Bible doctrine, and other lessons from Scripture.
  4. Character training and manners: Students learn weekly character traits and have daily opportunities to learn and practice good manners towards their classmates.
  5. Arts: Students participate in basic arts and crafts that help develop basic coordination and motor skills.
